Discussing the Root of UChicago’s Manosphere with Clifford Ando
The Maroon recaps the top stories from the week.
Episode Notes
Maroon Podcasts Editor Aubrey Barb sits down with Clifford Ando, the Robert O. Anderson Distinguished Service Professor of Classics, History, and the College, to discuss the widening (and worrying) admissions gap between male and female applicants to the College. We also review current campus news: a recent sexual assault lawsuit filed against the UChicago chapter of Alpha Delta Phi, results from first-year College Council elections, and the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry’s new south entrance construction project.
Editor's note: As reported by Vedika Baradwaj, UChicago dropped from sixth to ninth place between the 2026 and 2027 editions of the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Ranking.
